WHERE IS MY FUR? — PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Help Us Bring Empathy Education
to Every Child Who Needs It

“Where Is My Fur?” is the first children’s book paired with a complete educational module that teaches empathy, emotional intelligence, and the language of support — designed for schools, hospitals, and families worldwide. We are looking for strategic partners to help scale this ecosystem across the United States.

Our Reach So Far

  • 6.9M

Aliqua id fugiat nostrud irure ex duis ea quis id quis ad et.

  • 9,620

children diagnosed with cancer in the US each year

  • 0

existing children’s books with a structured educational module for hair loss.

  • 0

components in our ready-to-use SEL toolkit

The Market Gap No One Has Filled

There are approximately 15–20 English-language children’s books about alopecia or cancer-related hair loss. Not one of them comes with a structured educational module.

“Nowhere Hair” has reached over 100 cancer centers — but it has no curriculum. “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio became a nationwide educational movement about visible differences — with 16 million copies sold, a major film, and multiple certified classroom programs. But no one has replicated that model for hair loss conditions.

“Where Is My Fur?” is the first and only project that combines an engaging children’s narrative with a complete, SEL-aligned educational ecosystem — created by a board-certified dermatologist-oncologist who works with children experiencing hair loss every day.

“The Wonder model proved that a single children’s book about visible difference can become a multi-million-dollar educational movement. We are building that model for hair loss.”

A Complete Educational Ecosystem — Not Just a Book

Each kit includes five integrated components designed for a 45–60 minute structured lesson built on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) principles and aligned with the CASEL framework.

  • The Book

“Where Is My Fur?” — the story of Korzhyk, a cheerful little dog who suddenly starts losing his fur. Scared and confused, he visits Dr. Fox — a kind trichologist who explains what’s happening. Along the way, Korzhyk meets friends with their own differences, learns to accept help, and discovers that real strength comes from courage, kindness, and the support of others.

  • Emotion Map

A double-sided interactive map that guides children through Korzhyk’s emotional journey and helps them explore their own feelings. Children identify, name, and discuss emotions — building the foundation for emotional self-awareness. Aligns with CASEL’s Self-Awareness competency.

  • Language of Support Guide

A practical tool that teaches children safe and empathetic communication — what to say, and what not to say, when someone is going through a hard time. Children learn to express care, ask thoughtful questions, and offer genuine support. Aligns with CASEL’s Social Awareness and Relationship Skills competencies.

  • Support Cards

After the lesson, children put empathy into practice: they write personal letters of warmth to children undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals. This transforms the classroom exercise into a real act of kindness — the lesson doesn’t end in the classroom. It reaches a child who needs it most. Aligns with CASEL’s Responsible Decision-Making competency.

  • Adult Methodology Guide

A structured, step-by-step lesson plan for educators, psychologists, and parents. Ready to use — no special training needed. Includes discussion prompts, activity instructions, and tips for different age groups. Built on modern evidence-based approaches to emotional intelligence development.

From Story to Real Impact — In One Lesson

  • READ

Children read Korzhyk’s story together and discuss the character’s feelings and experiences. The teacher or parent uses the methodology guide to facilitate conversation.

  • EXPLORE

Using the Emotion Map and Language of Support Guide, children learn to name their own feelings, recognize emotions in others, and practice supportive phrases. They discover what to say — and what not to say — when someone is going through a hard time.

  • ACT

Children write personal Support Cards — real letters of warmth addressed to children undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals. This is the moment where empathy moves from theory to practice.

  • GIVE

The Support Cards, along with donated books, are delivered to pediatric oncology wards. The classroom lesson produces a real outcome — a child in treatment receives a book and a handwritten message of support.

Every purchased book or educational kit provides another book to a child undergoing treatment — for free. Buy One, Give One.

MD, PhD — Dermatologist-Oncologist & Hair Restoration Surgeon

Dr. Myroslava Novosilska

Dr. Novosilska is the President of the Ukrainian Association of Surgical Hair Restoration, an associate member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), and co-founder of the Global Hair Loss Summit.

She holds a U.S. EB-1A Extraordinary Ability Visa — a distinction awarded to professionals with internationally recognized expertise. She is the author of 16+ scientific publications and 1 patent in hair loss treatment. As a trainer, she has educated 200+ professionals across 50+ clinics worldwide.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Novosilska works daily with children and adults experiencing hair loss. She created “Where Is My Fur?” because she saw firsthand that children need more than medical treatment — they need emotional support, and the people around them need the right tools to provide it.

“I created this book because in my practice I see children who lose not just their hair — but their confidence, their sense of belonging, and sometimes their friends. Medicine can treat the condition. But only empathy can heal the loneliness.”— Dr. Myroslava Novosilska

Why Partner With “Where Is My Fur?”

This project sits at the intersection of three high-impact sectors: children’s health, empathy education, and anti-bullying — each with strong institutional demand, dedicated funding infrastructure, and broad public support in the United States.

No other children’s resource bridges alopecia awareness and childhood cancer support with a ready-to-use classroom tool.

  • First-Mover Advantage

The only children’s book combined with a structured educational module addressing hair loss conditions. No direct competitors exist in this space.

  • Dual Awareness Month Alignment

September is both Alopecia Awareness Month (NAAF) and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (#GoGold) — creating an unmatched annual PR and media window. “Where Is My Fur?” is the only children’s resource that addresses both conditions simultaneously.

  • SEL-Aligned and School-Ready

The module maps directly to CASEL’s five core competencies, making it immediately adoptable by US schools. Over half of American schools already use the CASEL framework. No additional curriculum adaptation required.

  • Built-In Charity Model

“Buy One, Give One” — every book or kit purchased funds the delivery of another book to a child in treatment. Simple, transparent, and deeply resonant for corporate partners and donors.

  • Medical Authority

Founded by an MD, PhD with a U.S. EB-1A Extraordinary Ability Visa, ISHRS membership, and 16+ publications — a level of clinical credibility no competing project can match.

  • Ukrainian Origin as a Strategic Asset

64% of Americans express support for Ukraine. The project’s wartime origin story resonates as resilience and innovation — not victimhood. Born in Ukraine during wartime, built to heal children worldwide.

Let’s Build This Together

We are seeking strategic partners — producers, foundations, corporations, and institutions — who share our belief that empathy can be taught, and that every child — whether healthy or undergoing treatment — deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued. Whether you can open doors to hospitals, fund classroom kits, amplify our story, or advise on scaling in the US market — we would love to hear from you.
